FoodMob! inspired hamburgers

This was the first time I took a picture of food with intentions of showing it to other people. I started watching a show on Revision3 called, Food Mob!. Irish chief Niall Harbison brings you a new kind of culinary show for a new kind of chef (those looking to learn their way around the kitchen). The show invigorates a robust online community where viewers are sharing, suggesting, and learning from each other's cooking.
So far there are 8 or 9 episodes and he teaches cooking techniques easy enough for a new-found cook to learn, or basics and gives good ideas for those of us that have been cooking for awhile. The team has good humor and works well together. This picture was my hamburger I had made one lazy weekend when I didn't know what else to make. A lot of what I put into it was inspired by Niall. I had placed the pic up on their Facebook site hoping to get my pic posted on an episode, but alas, it was not shown. Oh well. I feel good about sharing.

Mostly the ingredients are simple:
Ground beef
Worcestershire sauce
Shredded cheese mixed into the meat
Small portion of bread crumbs
Salt and pepper

That's it. Easy and taste really great. Cooked indoors in a pan, with a nice sesame seed bun. Next time I would put some lettuce and tomato, but I didn't have any at the time.

Food Mob! has new episodes every Thursday. Also check them out at FoodMob!

New idea for my blog

I keep wanting to do something with this blog. Something that's been done, but is pretty fun and something I do anyway is bake or cook. So, I think I am going to try to remember to keep my fancy camera by the kitchen when I do cook, to get pics and post up recipes, you all know what the format for cooking blogs.
Also I wanted to start putting up my card designs that I have made. Unfortunately I only have a few right now, it wasn't until recent that I been taking pictures of my cards, and hard to remember all the ones that I made to get pictures of. But I will remember to take the pics and put them up. Each is my own design. If i can remember I will put up techniques and tools and whatnot used for them. Well, here's to a new blog start.
~Cheers!

I miss you

Today is the year anniversary since my grandmother died. I was very close to her. When we were kids, we would go see her every summer in Dallas, Tx. She was a very special woman who lived through a lot of good and bad times. She had 8 children, and too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to count. I miss you and love you and will always have you with me.

Do you remember?

Sometimes I hear a song I haven't heard for awhile on the raido. This happens to everyone. You frist hear it and think, "wow, I haven't heard that for a long time". Then remember that time of your life, or what you were doing when that song was popular or your fave. Its like it transports you back to a different time.

For example, everytime I hear a Ludacris song, it takes me back to remembering the time I was working at Michael's Art and Craft store. I listened to him a lot during the time I worked there. I also was starting college at that time so I rememebr some of the college experiences that I had as well.

Another is Mudvayne, reminds me of the time I was working at Media Play. I was hard core into them and the LD 50 album. And around that time, Lost and Found was released as well. So it takes me back to driving in the car to get to Media Play. Getting my self phyced up to go to work with some Mudvayne.

What are your songs and what do they remind you of?

working/not working

Doing a bit of work online. Looking for a job. About 4 weeks ago I was laid off. So I keep looking, A few hopefuls but tons of putting in appications. A small graphic deisgn company I am going to next week to see if I could be helpful. That seems like a really great route. I am pretty good at photography, like taking pictures and editing them. Also I have a degree in graphic deisgn. Im pretty good at design and getting colors togther and layout. I am also pretty good at card making and scrapbooking and making jewelry. Im good in an office setting. Im good on my own or good with a group or on my own. I have all these talents, but not sure what Im good at. Im not sure if that makes sense, but I just dont know what to list as far as what I can do. Am I any kind of specialst? Do I have any paticular talents or servicces I can offer? Im not totally sure. Im not sure if I have a classification. I guess like a jack of all trades, but only knowing limited trades.

This posting was just going to be what was going on but seemed to turn out into a job thing. Oh well. All in all its ok. Money running out. Waiting for money. House looks good. Keep trying to improve on cooking. This week my cooking hasnt been great. I messed up on two dinners in a row. I feel bad. I really try, but it just seems that Im better at baking. But since out oven has been working for the past month, I cant bake anything either. So what good am I? No job and no baked goods. Feeling a bit down about it, but my wonderful man is keeping my spirits up. Im trying my best to try go get things back togther. Trying my best to keep a happy face. Just keep reminding myself that things will get better, the oven will be fixed. I will eventually find a job. Cook something that I know, I know how to cook. It all eventually has to fall back into place. And hopefully before christmas. Trying to get ideas on what to do for christmas, but not really focused on it.

So all in all, holding togther. Oh, started awhile back playing WOW. Haven't gotten far, but its been fun. I got to participate in the Hallows End celebration and doing the trick r' treat runs. So far its been fun! Borderlands came out and I have seen game play, I might give it a try, but I dont think I am that good at fps.
Speaking of Trick R' Treat, its a great movie!!! Go see it or rent it.
Anywho, have a good day people. Let me know how you are doing.

Future Movies

So many new movies coming out soon, or at least in the next year. One of my all time fave book series, Cirque du Freak is being made into a movie. 23 October 2009. Same day as my all time fave movie series of torture porn, Saw VI. Apparently the du Freak movie is being called The Vampires Assistant, based loosely on the first three books of the series. "Loosely". The big term here for it could more than less suck so much that no one will try to make another movie out of it. There are 12 books in the series. All in which follow Darren Shan, a boy who turns into a half vampire to be and assistant to a vampire and the followings of his life and the war against vampaneze. As being a big fan of the book, I will see it and hope it sheds some decency on the series itself. But all in all, I know it is going to be like any other movie based on a book. The trailer can be watched here:
The Vampire's Assistant

Another book being made into a movie, Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. I read the first book and its decent. Good story line, a bit predictable, but keeps you occupied. I also looked up some of the info from the book, such as, the names of the Titans and the ancient Greek lore and history. All the info seems to have been correct, such as the writer actually did his research to make sure his story would keep the integrity of the Greek gods. It was actually real information that Wikipedia could confirm. I think for a writer to put that much into their book as to put real information is a big plus. It impresses me that even for a make believe story, they would do research. Since I wasn't such a huge fan of the book, but love the history and the Greek legends, I probably will enjoy this movie. The trailer can be watched at: The Lightning Thief

Of course for Halloween, Saw VI comes out this month. Even thought the series has taken a turn for the worse, I still remain loyal to Jigsaw and his teachings. I am interested to see where the new movie will take the story and what we will learn from this one.

Looking forward to:
Zombieland
Where the Wild Things Are (I never read that book)
Boondock Saints II (ify story)
New Moon (I know, I fell into the fad, but Jacob is in this one)
2012
Sherlock Holmes

What are the movie you are looking forward to? How do you think they will turn out?

new changes

I haven't written for awhile. I guess the glamor of the blog ran out. Many things when on. Got a new house! Its wonderful. Been there for 6 days. But it still fells like Im visiting and not living there. I guess I'll get over that soon. Everyone says I will. Got some things out and in use at the house. Very little decoration going on right now. I kinda like the minimal look its got going on. But know eventually with Christmas coming up and other holidays, that stuff will be given to us, and we will have more up. I'm almost thinking ditching the Christmas tree, but I searched for that thing for a while, so its probably going up. And since I'm such a sucker for the tree and some decoration, but don't tell anyone. Its a black tree, so its good.
But with the new house comes new fears. Will we have enough money, will we survive with all the new bills, how do the families feel about the big change. It is a big change. It a whole house! You got to think whats after that. Whats next in the stage of life. And there is big new changes in the company. I was told I am getting a store of my own. Well its a store I like and have been there awhile, but thats a big move for me. Staying in one office. Its a big difference than going to different stores everyday. So there is a lot going on.
Ill try to write a bit more. I know the glamor of the blog kinda wore off. But all in all, happy as can be.
